We’ve just got printed copies of the Membership document we designed for Audiences Central (the region’s audience development agency for the arts); it’s the first of a whole raft of documents we’re producing for them - along with a bit of brand refreshment - and it’s turned out grand!
This one needed to be an easy-to-understand showcase of Audiences Central’s newly structured membership packages, highlighting the many benefits of each as plainly and as clearly as possible; which we did using a simple, consistent layout with carefully planned typography.
This meticulous design plus swanky yet subtle use of spot uv on the cover has resulted in a very attractive document ... so come on West Midlands arts organisations! Request your copy from Audiences Central today!
Creativity in the city
We’ve just received finished copies of a brochure we designed for the Creative Compass campaign. An EU-funded initiative, the campaign was run by Audiences Central and Birmingham City Council to help under-represented people get into the creative industries. The brochure features a selection of stories about how some of the people who took part have now kick-started their creative careers; as well as facts and figures about how the creative industries are thriving here in Birmingham. (We understand the brochure’s going to be inserted into the Birmingham Post this Monday 14 April, so then’s the time to head on down to a newsagent’s near you ...!)

Easy-going, eco-friendly … essential
Having started as a small e-bay store, Eddie’s Essentials has grown into a fully-fledged e-tailer of the weird, the wonderful ... and the eco-friendly.
They asked us to create an identity to represent and showcase the company’s eclectic product range, strong customer-focus and thoughtful, friendly ethos. The logo includes a distinctive ‘e’ icon, which also forms the basis of the brand character (loosely based on one of the company directors!). ‘Eddie’ will add a bit of fun and personality to the brand, without loosing any of that credibility and trustworthiness so crucial to the success of any online retailer.

Caffè culture comes to the Quarter
Saint Caffè is a new, independent coffee shop boasting authentic Italian coffees, gourmet patisseries and a great location for sitting back, relaxing and watching the world go by.
From their existing logo we developed a brand style, including a floral/heart motif and a copywriting ‘tone of voice’, then applied this to their promotional and in-store materials. With the heart-shape theme and stylish-but-cosy interior it’s quite possibly the perfect place for a romantic rendez-vous this Valentine’s Day (which is on Thursday, don’t forget!). Saint Caffè is on St Paul’s Square in the Jewellery Quarter.
A perfect fit
We’ve recently completed the branding and website for MAC Projects, who design, install and manage interior fit-out projects for offices, schools and retail units. The brand reflects their creative, forward-thinking attitude, whilst at the same time portraying a company that is highly reliable and experienced. The challenge here was in designing a brand identity that is as effective, distinctive and comfortable when used ‘on site’ as it is at a corporate level. www.mac-projects.com
