London won the right to host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games partly due to promising to make this an event involving everyone in the UK.
WM for 2012 was formed to help West Midlands businesses, organisations, institutions, residents and visitors feel part of London 2012.
Working with an existing brand, we produced promotional materials for a host of campaigns, initiatives and events; including collateral for the region-wide call for Volunteers (with photography by Ed Moore), promotional material for the World Blind Football Championships and a guide to how local West Midlands-based businesses could benefit from London 2012.
Following the games, our final pieces of work for WM for 2012 were a finale event thank-you card – our concept, the simple 6,118,803 thank-yous (6,118,803 being the total number of people who took part) – and an advocacy document, featuring facts and figures about the success of games-related activity here in the West Midlands.
