Having previously worked with architecture practice Sjölander da Cruz on a visual identity and website for their live/work development The Badge Works, they approached us to develop a new brand identity and responsive website for the practice itself.
The identity is simple yet sophisticated – perfectly reflecting and representing the practice’s timeless style; with an understated yellow and blue colour palette acting as a gentle nod towards their Swedish roots.
The font, Din, is a classic from the Modernist school of design, and it works as beautifully on screen as it does in print. For the logo, however, we've softened the letter ‘ö’ with rounded – rather than squared – double dots.
It was of paramoutn importance to Sjölander da Cruz that the website show-off a wide variety of imagery – from sketches to computer renders, handmade maquettes to finished buildings.
As such, the website is very much image-led. All sitting within a beautifully designed (and beautifully flexible) grid structure, several images can be viewed simultaneously, giving a clear and concise overview of each building. And all images remain exactly the same proportions, whether being viewed on desktop, tablet or mobile – so you always get the same image crop, no matter the device.
