RDC Aviation provide consultancy services and software which helps the aviation industry to collect, analyse and make best use of its data.
Despite making data more simple for their clients, RDC Aviation's own offering appeared extremely complex and a little disparate – which is where we came in.
The new brand identity is centred around the concept of guiding companies to a more profitable path using the findings from their data; essentially helping them to 'navigate the data trail'.
The blocky, unfussy, pared-down design style is deliberate – it helps us to show complex things in the most simple, understandable, digestible way possible.
From the colour palette – based on the dark dashboards and coloured lights of cockpit controls – to the illustrative approach – tracking data along a plane's vapour trail – the new look is not only appropriate but stands out in a marketplace chock-full of aeroplane photography.
For the brochure, we chose a concertina format to best convey the idea of following a trail – you take the plane from the front page, follow it through all the other information about the company's services, landing at the Contact info. Very simple; very effective.
Following the brochure's success we were commissioned to apply the new look to the website for Aviation Economics; a business recently acquired by RDC Aviation, it acts as the company's consultancy arm. Working with government agencies, airlines and airports all across the globe, the Aviation Economics website needed a look to match its stature; which it now has.
The website is incredibly clear, suitably professional and – importantly – a pleasure to navigate; just as it should be for a world-leader in aviation consultancy.
