The web is a vital form of communication for Somerset's pioneering arts charity, Take Art.
Following a nationwide pitch process, Supercool were selected to help Take Art develop their website to better keep the artists, venues and audiences of Somerset well-informed about theatrical, dance and musical goings-on in the county's rural areas.
The biggest challenge for us with this project was structuring the What's On section.
As shows tour various towns and villages, there are different venues, dates, start times, contact details and prices for almost every performance – making it much more complex than many listings sites. But we've structured the back-end of the site to make inputting this data nice and simple for the site's various administrators, and the front-end is designed to be clear and understandable for users.
Not only is the website proving itself as a well-used events listing resource, it's also vital to Take Art from an advocacy point of view and has been a hugely powerful engagement tool in their campaign to Save Somerset Arts.
Supporting the main website is a pared-down mobile version, which allows people to take art with them, wherever they go.
So, the website is exactly what Take Art need; clear, functional, searchable and accessible – oh, and nice-looking too; in tandem with the online work, we also refined their brand identity, making it clearer and much easier for them to use.
"Supercool are a friendly, innovative and incredibly capable company. Full of ideas and practical sense, they worked with us closely to make sure we got the website we needed, at a price we could afford. We were totally delighted with their service."Louise Bennett, Marketing Coordinator, Take Art
