Another 48 hours

This is an old post, so may include broken links and/or out-of-date information

A couple of years back we put together a quick logo for Film Dash, Birmingham's 48-hour film-making challenge. This year, organised by the fine folks at Meshed Media, Film Dash is back – bigger and better than ever and with some brand new Supercool design.

Building on the success of this inaugural competition, Meshed Media commissioned Supercool to put together branding and print materials for the 2010 event, which was supported by Bullring, Arts Council England and Birmingham City Council as part of the Hello Digital festival.

A development of our original concept, the logo is a simple, typewriter-style word mark – which brings to mind olde-worlde typed film scripts – along with a string of coloured dots.

Why these colours? The colour palette is based on red, green and blue light which, when combined on-screen, mix to produce every colour of the spectrum. All becomes clear!

These splashes of vibrant colour set against lots of rich black give Film Dash its cinematic and distinctive look.

The theme of the competition is 'happiness' so; mark March 5-7th in your diary, start thinking happy thoughts and get ready to use your time wisely; you can get a lot done … in 48 hours. Find out more at www.filmdash.com

Supercool were everything I could've hoped for – fizzing with ideas, professional and friendly. I'm chuffed to bits with the work they produced and am looking forward to working with them again.
