Creative Compass

We were asked to develop the brand, printed literature and website for a creative industries initiative run by Audiences Central and Birmingham City Council.

The project, Creative Compass, tells the stories of people who were helped, through EU-funding, to gain training and experience in creative careers as diverse as stage management and jewellery design.

One of the challenges with the website was that each of the numerous stories had to be equal, with no one tale any more or less important than another. We achieved this by designing the site to load stories in a random order each time the page is refreshed. Neat.

As part of the project, a film was made about some of the participants’ experiences. Directed by BAFTA-winner Natasha Carlish and narrated by local TV legend Shefali Oza, it’s on the website if you’d like to watch: www.creativecompass.co.uk
