Transactional website

The primary purpose of a transactional website is to elicit an action. This action could be purchasing a product, signing a petition, reporting an issue, providing contact details etc. – but is always something over-and-above a passive exchange of information.

For example, FixMyStreet is a transactional website; its primary purpose is to enable people to take action by reporting issues like pot holes, graffiti and broken street-lights to the relevant local council.
