RSS

Really Simple Syndication – essentially RSS is a subscription tool that will bring you the latest updates from your favourite websites (as long as they have syndicated content), without you having to check each site manually. It’s useful for getting updates from things like news sites and blogs. Once you click on an RSS icon to subscribe you’re taken to a page containing summary content. The URL of this page then needs to be entered into an RSS (or ‘feed’) reader – a piece of software which will alert you to any new content from the feeds you’re subscribed to. Some popular RSS readers include Feedreader and Google Reader.
