Rich black

When printing four-colour, black can appear slightly 'grey', so when used over expanses of a page, we tend to use a rick black. The combination varies from printer to printer, but using 40% cyan, 40% magenta and 100% black to make up the colour seems to be the norm. This gives a much richer result – hence the name!
