Bleed

For materials that are being printed, we usually need to include 'bleed' - this is an extension of the background (colour or image), generally 3mm around the edges of the finished page. When a large number of printed sheets are being cut down to size all at once, some pages may slip a little, and the bleed helps to ensure there are no unsightly white marks left at the edge of a page.
