Postcard delivery

Mandy from Media Content Lab just popped over to deliver a box of our postcards that were recently featured in the postcard book ‘From The Midlands With Love’. It’s a selection of work by ‘some of the finest computer artists to emerge from the West Midlands’, don’t you know. Very flattering. Our card is made up of letters taken from various different logos we’ve designed; letters that when placed together spell ... Supercool. Of course.

The office smells lovely with all that fresh ink - mmmmmm! If you’d like a postcard, let me know your name and address, and (if I can find a stamp!) I’ll popone in the post to you. My email’s katie [@] supercooldesign.co.uk

Teddy Thompson

Categories: Earworm

As a little 'Happy Birthday' to ourselves (Supercool turned 4 on Saturday), we went to The Glee Club to see singer-songwriter chap Teddy Thompson. And it was ace!

Yes I know – I was a bit dubious at first (the Country & Western radio station from GTA sprung to mind) but it was actually great once I got into it.

The band were fantastic, especially the multi-talented David Mansfield who's apparently something of a legend, having toured extensively with Bob Dylan in ye olden days. Over the course of the set he played guitar, pedal steel, dobro and fiddle, and was brilliantly, distgustingly accomplished on each. Makes me wish I'd kept up practice on the old joanna ...

Likemind: Birmingham

If you’re one of the lucky people whom i haven’t yet pestered about Likemind then keep reading.

Put simply (as there have been more complex versions) Likemind is a coffee morning that takes place at 8am on the last Friday of the month in over 40 cities across the globe. It was started by a design agency in New York inviting anybody who wanted to come along before work and chat with interesting people over a nice cup of coffee – and it’s spread to Birmingham, where in fact I’m co-hosting it at Hudsons Coffee House on Colmore Row in town.

You can find out more at likemind.us or email me if you’d like a reminder for the next one. So there consider yourself pestered!
